C-MAP Reveal charts feature photo-realistic sea floor imagery for Simrad, Lowrance, B&G users

C-MAP’s new Reveal chart cards provide stunning, photo-realistic, high-resolution bathymetric imagery in select coastal and offshore areas to anglers and divers with compatible* Simrad, B&G or Lowrance sonar/GPS units at their helms. Attractive three-dimensional views of the sea floor bring to life the world below your boat, allowing you to locate underwater pinnacles and topographical landmarks easier than ever. These new charts allow anglers and divers to see more on the sea floor – including structure, wrecks, isolated reefs, ledges and more – all at a more affordable price than other charts in their category.

Three of 11 chart cards for U.S. coastal areas begin shipping on April 26:

  • Florida and the Bahamas (M-NA-Y643)
  • St. Lucie Inlet to New Orleans (M-NA-Y644)
  • New Orleans to Brownsville (M-NA-Y645)

C-MAP’s game-changing new Reveal layer is easy to use – simply toggle on the “Shaded Relief” setting in your chartplotter’s “Chart Options” menu. The Reveal layer’s high-definition display of the seafloor will greatly reduce your search time for isolated reefs, ledges, wrecks and other bottom structures of interest to anglers and/or divers.

Reveal charts also include features already familiar to C-MAP MAX-N+ chart users, including: vector data, High Resolution Bathy (HRB) contour lines; coastal data, Genesis Social Map contour lines, and satellite imagery – all in separate, optional layers which can be toggled on to overlay directly atop your chart.

(In the three images below, at right, the orange-shaded areas feature high-resolution, C-MAP Reveal sea-floor coverage, and the lighter-shaded areas feature C-MAP MAX-N+ coverage, including, High-Res Bathy, Genesis Layer, Custom Depth Shading and Satellite Imagery.)

  1. Hi Greg as good as these are they are very limited compared to what is publicly available free here in NZ (see the below link and go to Bathymetry and put the contours on or look at rugosity , Now what would be helpful is if you uploaded these into CMAP or if I could somehow load these into my Simrad but at the moment I make do with printing these out with the GPS coordinates and diving on them. 1. If that data in New Zealand is indeed free, and C-MAP can acquire it, we certainly can create map card that includes it. I’ve asked my colleagues in our office in Australia to investigate if we can acquire that data. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. — Greg

  2. I bought a CMAP Reveal card. How do I take advantage of the Genesis Edge one year subscription that came with it? No instructions were included and when you create an account, there does not seem to be a way to activate the card and subscription. This is frustrating!

    1. R Mulk: Sorry for your frustration. You are r3ferring to a promotion which ended at the start of 2020, but we’d be happy to offer you a complimentary Genesis Edge subscription. First you will need to go to genesismaps.com and create a free account. Then, message back with the email address associated with your free account and we can upgrade you to Genesis Edge. — Regards, Greg
