Greg Hackney: Insight Genesis maps give anglers an advantage

Hackney-CollageInsight Genesis maps give anglers an advantage, says Greg Hackney, the 2014 Bassmaster Elite Series Angler of the Year.

“If you fish a lake that doesn’t have a map, you can use the Lowrance Insight Genesis to build your own map of that lake — which is a pretty cool deal,” Hackney explains. “Soon, everybody will know that, but now they don’t. So you’ll have the jump on your buddies on your local lake by doing that.”

You won’t believe how detailed this Insight Genesis fishing map is!

Gaston main gifThe seasoned fishermen could not contain his excitement as a custom Insight Genesis fishing map appeared on the screen of the fish-finder on his boat:

“You can automatically see the difference!” He exclaimed. “Look at those one-foot contours!”

See what you’ve been missing without Insight Genesis, Social Map

Since before Magellan, man has searched for better ways to explore uncharted waters. Today, many modern voyagers put their trust in digital maps on portable media cards. But many digital maps have limits. Many are simply electronic copies of outdated, incomplete paper charts. Lacking detail and updated only with computer-estimated contour lines, they can miss, or obscure, the key bottom changes that most interest anglers and boaters. In addition, many important waterways remain un-mapped.

With so much uncharted water to explore, you deserve a better way to get detailed contour maps – instead of waiting for a survey crew to make one. You deserve the freedom to make your own maps — where and when you want. You deserve Insight Genesis. Insight Genesis combines mapping innovation with cloud technology — empowering you to create custom coastal and inland maps from sonar data recorded with the Lowrance, Simrad or B&G sonar unit on your OWN boat. To better visualize how Insight Genesis will work for you, watch this new Insight Genesis video: Continue reading “See what you’ve been missing without Insight Genesis, Social Map”

“Soft-bottom areas are home to invertabrates that make up the base of the food chain,” he explains.

To locate transitions from hard to soft bottoms, Glorvigen uses Insight Genesis, the online Lowrance service that creates custom lake maps from sonar signals recorded from the transducer on your boat. Continue reading “Find bottom-hardness transitions to find and catch fish”
