Need another reason to buy the new giant iPhone? You can view your Insight Genesis custom contour maps on it!

Insight Genesis, the innovative cloud-based map-generation tool for Lowrance, Simrad NS and B&G Zeus series chartplotters, is now enabled for use on mobile phones and e-tablets. With the release of a new HTML5-powered viewer, custom Insight Genesis maps and Insight Genesis Social Map charts can now be viewed on iOS, Android, Windows and mobile phones and tablets. In regions with good cellular service, the upgrade will allow free viewing of Genesis maps from your boat, while on the water.*

HTML5 is programming language used for structuring and presenting content on the Internet. Insight Genesis’ new HTML5 architecture replaces a system based on Silverlight, which was not compatible with mobile devices. To view your custom Insight Genesis maps and Social Map charts on your mobile device, log in to your account and click on a lake name, just as you would on your computer.

Mac upload

Mac airInsight Genesis e-tablet enabling follows Mac compatibility, which was announced in July. A new Insight Genesis web-upload dashboard – which eliminates the need to download and install a desktop application for uploading sonar-log files – makes Insight Genesis Mac-compatible. Because the new dashboard works with all computer types – Mac or PC – through a web browser, all Insight Genesis users can now upload sonar-log files directly from their account.

Anglers can keep their maps top secret, or share their fishing maps with each other via Insight Genesis Social Map, an online database of custom contour maps generated and shared by community-minded Lowrance users

With Insight Genesis Social Map, you can quickly and effortlessly get detailed contour maps of thousands of water bodies, including those close to home, across the country, and around the globe. Built on a base layer of existing contour charts, Social Map refreshes itself in near real-time with current sonar data shared by the Insight Genesis community, revealing new fishing holes for anglers in never-before-seen detail.

You can harness the power of Insight Genesis for yourself with a free account or a premium subscription. With either, you can create, use and save unlimited custom and social maps online; contribute sonar data; create, edit and store waypoints; manually adjust water-level offsets; and analyze weather trends.

Premium subscribers can load their custom maps and Social Map charts onto their compatible* Lowrance Elite HDI, HDS*, Simrad NS Series or B&G Zeus GPS or chartplotters for use on the water. As a Premium subscriber, you can also create unique bottom-hardness and vegetation-location maps, and can choose to mark your maps as private for personal use only. No matter which option you choose, your trails, waypoints and other personal data are always kept private.
