Monthly and annual prizes will be awarded to individuals and TBF state associations that record the most acres of sonar recordings from compatible* Lowrance chartplotters, then upload those recordings to the Insight Genesis website. TBF members can build a personal database of mapping information while also contributing data they mark as public into an aggregated database to help crowd source the effort for all anglers.
Although the contest officially starts April 1, contestants can enter now and begin uploading sonar recordings for the monthly and 2014 annual prizes. The individual who uploads the most acres of sonar recordings between today and December 31, 2014 will win a free, expenses-paid weekend fishing trip with a Lowrance Pro Team Angler. In addition, HDS Gen2 Touch fishfinder/chartplotter models will be awarded to first- through fourth-place individual finishers on a monthly basis.
For annual prizes, TBF large and small state associations will win $20,000 in Lowrance products for first place and up to $10,000 in Lowrance products for second place – based on the annual amount of sonar logs recorded and uploaded to the Insight Genesis website. The state association determination of large vs. small will be made by August 31, based on the number of members uploading data from each state.
